Eve Online. I have played almost every MMO ever released and had some good times with most of them. Then came along Eve Online, which for me blew the rest out of the water, a game that can be effected by every action made by its player base.
This blog will serve as my dear diary of events and decisions that I will make over the next year in game.
So lets get some background in here....
I started in New Eden near the back end of 2010. Like, I presume, many others I lacked clear direction when I started out. Many things in Eve are alien to even the veterans of MMOs, the unique design of the game make it hard to grasp the level which you will play to.
In an attempt to chose a career, I decided to go with "erm, lets just train that because it looks cool" mentality, this continued for my first 4 to 5 months. I trained into ships that I couldn't really fly and lost plenty of Isk due to this.
Luckily for me I found a friend who helped me along, he even dragged me into Solitude for the first time. Solitude is a nice region of space and was a great place for me to continue my fledgling, though bewildered, existence. With some help and direction I turned my hand towards Industry.
Industry, though long and laborious, gave me my first real big boosts in Isk and a sense of place in the universe. It was pretty much at this point that it became apparent that I wanted faster results, the only way to achieve this was through creating a new account.
To supplement my income I also used both of these characters in some PVE action. Mission running was a good move it would seem, as not only this gave me a break from mining and manufacturing but also because it was increasing my standing with the factions that owned the stations I was refining in.
It wasn't long after that I met a most interesting character, Mike, who I had some real good times with. He set off into Nullsec, Drone Regions in his corp. I followed and spent 6 months living and learning. What this guy has forgotten about Eve, I don't think I can ever learn. What a great time it was living out there, we had some great industrialist opportunities, marketing opportunities and loads of PVP action. Due to real life we lost touch for a while when he was away on business, it was then that I moved back to Empire, though only temporarily (shortly onto Solitude again). I established myself my own corp running pure Indy.
In a further attempt to increase my overall productivity I decided to expand my account holdings once again, this continued all the way through my time in Eve. Now i have 6 accounts, comprised of 2 PVP characters and all have research and production skills. Not forgetting that these 6 make the perfect mining fleet with 4 having perfect mining skills.
So, onto the now! I have looked across New Eden for my next challenge, and I believe I have found it.....Worm Hole space.
My next few weeks are going to be spent researching and gathering resources in preparation to move into a WH that my corp currently occupies, but potentially into a WH of my own in the near future. Its an exciting prospect to live in a desolate hard to reach location, I am looking forward to it and I will keep you updated on my progress over the next few days.
